place of 8,000 Khmer skulls. |

of all tourists to Cambodia each year, only 9 miles from Phnom Penh
is the site where 20,000 Cambodians were tortured and murdered by
the hands of the Khmer Rouge. |

The sign hides the
truth behind the "magic tree" The executioners where not allowed to
use bullets to kill their victims, children and babies had their
skulls crushed against the tree. Rags of the victims still litter
the area to this day. |

Open mass graves are
everywhere, quite rightly left untouched as a reminder of the
atrocities that occurred here. |

During the Khmer Rouge
era, 1975-1979 1.7 million Cambodians lost their lives in
establishments such as this. |
